Summer Hymn Showdown
Vote now to enter your favorite hymns in GLC's summer hymn showdown! The top hymns voted in will be sung this summer, mid-June through August, and then we'll have a tournament-style run-off of the favorites. Voting closes Monday, 6/9.
Have fun with this! Give it some thought, maybe talk to others and try to convince them to vote for your favorites.
Three votes per person - you can use your three votes on three different hymns or all on the same one. Vote online or on a paper ballot form in the church entryway.
Out of curiosity, we're also spicing it up, inviting you to get one optional "eliminate" vote. What's your least favorite or a hymn you DON'T want to make it to the top?! Each "eliminate" vote will counteract each positive vote.
Summer liturgy will start on 6/15/25, and will be a spoken order for worship (no sung liturgy pieces but rather spoken like "holy, holy, holy," etc.). Our worship shifts over the course of the year and the church liturgical year to help us focus and attend to the season. In summer's ordinary time, we'll speak the liturgy but have some fun with these favorite hymns, share and learn about some, and also invite you into a tournament-style vote showdown to determine a crowd favorite winner at the end of August.
