Originally from Hancock, Maryland, Daniel Weatherholt has served as Parish Administrator at Georgetown Lutheran Church since the summer of 2026. The son of two Episcopal priests, Daniel grew up at Historic St. Thomas’ Episcopal Parish in Hancock, where his father, the Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr., served as Rector for 41 years before retiring in 2021. The church has therefore been central to Daniel’s life from an early age.
Both of Daniel’s parents also served ELCA congregations during their ministries. His father formerly served as Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Buck Valley, Pennsylvania, and his mother, the Rev. Anne Weatherholt, served as a Seminarian and Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stony Lake, Michigan. Both are now retired and live in Westminster, Maryland, though they continue to serve part-time in interim and supply ministry—his father in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland and his mother in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. Daniel enjoys discovering that his connections to Western Maryland and Westminster, Maryland are often another points of connection and conversation with people he meets throughout the area.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music from Frostburg State University in Western Maryland, with a minor in Business Management, and a Master of Music in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
In addition to his work at Georgetown Lutheran, Daniel serves as Organist and Director of Music at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Poolesville, Maryland. He also teaches piano at Obbligato Music in Arlington, Virginia, and maintains a private studio teaching piano, organ, and voice.
Daniel lives in the Cathedral Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. In his free time, he enjoys discovering new restaurants, traveling, and taking advantage of everything the DC area has to offer with his family and friends. He is also a member of the congregation at Washington National Cathedral, where he serves as an usher and lay reader for Sunday Choral Evensong and other special services.
